Regulation is in many respects the EU’s core business. The CEPS Regulatory Policy Unit explores policy and regulatory challenges in the areas of better regulation, internal market, competition policy, trade and the digital economy. As regards the current EU Commission’s agenda, the unit’s activities focus on:

  • The revision of EU impact assessment and ex post evaluation guidelines
  • REFIT (Regulatory Fitness and Performance Programme)
  • Trade policy and transnational regulatory cooperation (with high attention given to TTIP and CETA agreements)
  • The development of the Digital Single Market
  • The interplay between regulation, innovation and competition
